What is SPERS-Sec?
The School Placement Exercise for Returning Singaporeans – Secondary (SPERS-Sec) is a centralised posting exercise conducted around September or October each year for Returning Singaporeans who wish to join secondary schools at Secondary 1, 2 and 3 at the beginning of the next academic year. Application for SPERS-Sec opens in July each year.
How is SPERS-Sec conducted?
Admission to secondary school is merit-based and your child is required to sit for English and Mathematics tests as part of SPERS-Sec. Based on your child’s performance in the tests, he/she will receive a list of secondary schools. We encourage you to discuss with your child before opting for six schools from the list. MOE will post your child to a secondary school based on his/her performance in the SPERS-Sec tests, school choices, and available vacancies.
