International Students Admissions

International students who wish to seek admission to our mainstream schools at the Primary 2 to 5 or Secondary 1 to 3 levels must take part in the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS).

This will help to ensure that international students admitted to our mainstream schools are able to cope with the requirements of the Singapore education and curriculum.

Admission is not guaranteed, and is subject to the applicant’s performance in the centralised test on English and Mathematics. If successful, placement will take into consideration the available vacancies and the applicant's declared Singapore residential area where possible.

What is International Students Admissions

International students admissions is the process for non-Singapore Citizens (SC) or non-Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR) to seek admission to our mainstream primary schools, secondary schools and junior colleges in Singapore.

Admission to Primary 1

International students aged 6 to 6 + as of 1 January in the year of school admission and who wish to seek admission to Primary One (P1) are to refer to the Primary One Registration website for more information.

Parents of international students should note that admission is not guaranteed due to limited vacancies, and are advised to consider alternative educational options well ahead, even as they may decide to seek admission to P1.

Admission to Primary 2–5 & Secondary 1–3

International students aged 7 and above as of 1 January in the year of school admission, and who wish to seek admission to our mainstream schools, are required to sit for the Admissions Exercise for International Students (AEIS) or the Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students (S-AEIS).

The AEIS is for international students seeking admission to Primary 2-5 and Secondary 1-3 in the following academic year and the S-AEIS is for international students seeking admission to Primary 2-4 and Secondary 1-2 in the same academic year. International students participating in the AEIS or S-AEIS would enjoy the convenience of a centralised test on English and Mathematics.

Admission is not guaranteed, and is subject to the applicant’s performance in the test. If successful, placement will take into consideration the available vacancies and the applicant’s declared Singapore residential area where possible.

Admission to Junior Colleges (JCs) & Millennia Institute (MI)

International students seeking admission to JCs or MI are to apply to the schools directly from October to December. Admission is not guaranteed, and is subject to the international students meeting the school’s admission criteria and availability of vacancies.
