Chinese Language

This list of Chinese Language supplementary readers is approved by the Singapore Chinese Supplementary Readers’ Council, and includes books recommended by established publishers and teachers who have been actively promoting student reading programmes in school.
- 欢乐小镇 (Happytown)
‘Happy Town’ is a Chinese website for primary and secondary pupils to learn Chinese Language in a fun and interactive way. The 5 “locations” in Happy Town engage pupils in active learning and participation. Besides featuring stories, songs, news, knowledge, games and language tips, the website hosts pupils’ written and creative works. Happy Town website is updated on every 6th, 16th and 26th of the month.
- Chinese Language Digital Instructional Resources
CL Digital Instructional Resources is a language website mainly for primary teachers and pupils. Teachers can download digital instructional resources for teaching and pupils can acquire CL text-related knowledge through multimedia and interactive content.
- Culture Bridge
‘Culture Bridge’ is a cultural website for pupils to acquire culture-related knowledge through multimedia and interactive content which features topics of interest in Chinese and other cultures with reference to local context. The website will also serve as a platform to engage pupils in cultural activities and events.
Malay Language
- Nadi
‘Nadi’ (which means pulse) is a Malay Language website developed by Educational Technology Division, Ministry of Education for pupils aged 9 to 12. It aims to provide a variety of meaningful, interesting and fun-filled internet resources to enhance the teaching and learning of the Malay Language. There are 5 pulsating segments in Nadi namely, Nadi Jauhari (General Knowledge), Nadi Berita (Current and School News), Nadi Budaya (Culture and Tradition), Nadi Bahasa (Language) and Nadi Ria (Games & Quizzes). Nadi website is updated on every 12th day of the month.
Tamil Language
- Nam Naadi
‘Nam Naadi’ is a Tamil Language website for children aged 10 to 12 years. It provides a variety of meaningful, interesting and fun-filled internet resources to enhance the teaching and learning of the Tamil language, culture and general knowledge. Tamil Akka, the website mascot interacts with the users and leads them to the activities in the various sections. There are five sections, each with a different focus. The users are engaged in stimulating and fun activities which promote independent learning. The on-line resources in the website are updated on the 18th day of every month.
