Edusave Scholarships
MOE offers four types of scholarships funded by EDUSAVE. These scholarship awards are only applicable to pupils who are Singapore Citizens.
- Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools
- Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools
- Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards
- Edusave Scholarships for Secondary Schools
Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS)
Eligibility
The EESIS are awarded to eligible pupils who are admitted to S1 in all Independent Schools (IS), based on their PSLE results.
The EESIS is also awarded to P6 GEP pupils who are Singapore Citizens and who
- meet the P6 GEP promotion criteria, and
- are enrolled in the IP in an Independent School at S1.
Award Quantum
The EESIS award quantum for pupils admitted into S1 from 2008 onwards is $2,400, or the annual school fees charged by the independent school less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government/ government-aided schools, whichever is lower.
If a pupil is admitted to one of the Ministry’s special programmes (e.g. Art Elective Programme, Music Elective Programme) or awarded any other fee subsidy or scholarship (eg. GEP Fees Subsidy, SAP Scholarship, RSP Scholarship), the EESIS award quantum will be $2,400 or the annual school fees less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government / government-aided schools, whichever is lower, less any fee subsidy provided under the special programme, Ministry / school programme or any other scholarship.
Tenure
The tenure of the scholarship is 4 years for pupils who are not in the IP, and 6 years for pupils in the IP. The scholar must make good progress each year in order to continue receiving the scholarship.
Application and Award Process
Upon the release of the PSLE results, pupils eligible for the EESIS will be informed. No application is required for the scholarship. Eligible pupils will be offered the EESIS, provided that:
- they have met the EESIS cut-off score (based on their PSLE aggregate score before any bonus points) and are admitted to an IS; or
- they are eligible P6 GEP pupils who have met the P6 GEP promotion criteria and are admitted to an IS and enrolled in the IP of that school at S1.
Upon the release of the school posting results in December, pupils can check whether they have been offered the EESIS via the S1 Internet System (S1-IS).
Pupils eligible for the EESIS who are admitted to secondary schools under the Direct School Admission Exercise (DSA-Sec) will also be offered the scholarship if they are admitted to an appropriate school and / or programme based on their eligibility.
Pupils who are susequently admitted to an IS after the S1 Posting Exercise and have met the eligibility criteria will also be awarded the EESIS.
Edusave Scholarships for Integrated Programme Schools (ESIP)
Eligibility
The ESIP are awarded to Singapore Citizen pupils enrolled in/ admitted into the IP in an IS at Secondary Three, who do not have the EESIS and have performed well in the Integrated Programme Scholarship Test (IPST).
Award Quantum
The ESIP award quantum for pupils admitted into Secondary Three from 2010 onwards is $2,400, or the annual school fees charged by the IS less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government / government-aided schools, whichever is lower.
If you are admitted to one of the Ministry’s special programmes (e.g. Art Elective Programme, Music Elective Programme) or awarded any other fee subsidy or scholarship (eg. GEP Fees Subsidy, SAP Scholarship, RSP Scholarship), the ESIP award quantum will be $2,400 or the annual school fees less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government/ government-aided schools, whichever is lower, less any fee subsidy provided under the special programme, Ministry/ school programme or any other scholarship.

Application and Award Process
Pupils enrolled in / admitted into the IP in an IS at Secondary Three will be invited by the school to apply for the scholarship at the end of their Secondary Two studies.
Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards [E(IS)YA]
Eligibility
MOE offers the Edusave (Independent Schools) Yearly Awards [E(IS)YA] to pupils in IS who are Singapore Citizens and not already holding the EESIS or ESIP. These are given to the top 5% of each cohort by level in each IS based on their school examination results at the end of the year. These awards are to encourage and reward pupils who have excelled academically as well as obtained a good grade for conduct in that year.
Award Quantum
The E(IS)YA award quantum for pupils admitted into S1 from 2008 onwards is $2,400, or the annual school fees charged by the IS less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government / government-aided schools, whichever is lower.
If you are admitted to one of the Ministry’s special programmes (e.g. Art Elective Programme, Music Elective Programme) or awarded any other fee subsidy or scholarship (eg. GEP Fees Subsidy, SAP Scholarship, RSP Scholarship, Independent School Bursary), the E(IS)YA award quantum will be $2,400 or the annual school fees less the annual amount of school and standard miscellaneous fees paid by pupils in government/government-aided schools, whichever is lower, less any fee subsidy provided under the special programme, Ministry / school programme, Independent School Bursary or any other scholarship.
Application and Award Process
All pupils are considered for the E(IS)YA, and there is no need for any pupil to apply. Pupils awarded the E(IS)YA will be informed through their schools by the beginning of the next academic year.
Edusave Scholarships for Secondary Schools (ESSS)
The Edusave Scholarships for Secondary Schools (ESSS) are awarded on a yearly basis to the top 10% pupils who are Singapore Citizens by level and stream in all government and government-aided secondary schools (excluding the IS) based on the pupils’ school examination results for the year. The top 5% pupils will be awarded scholarships worth $500, and the next 5%, $300. These scholarships are to encourage pupils to excel in their studies and reward their efforts. The schools will select pupils for these yearly awards at the end of the school year.
