International Student Admissions: Overview
The 2012 Admissions Exercise for International Students — (AEIS) tests are tentatively scheduled to be conducted on 10 October 2012 (For Primary 2 to 5) & 11 October 2012 (For Secondary 1-3).
More information on the 2012 AEIS application procedures will be available in mid July 2012.
The 2013 Supplementary Admissions Exercise for International Students – (S-AEIS) tests are tentatively scheduled to be conducted on 27 February 2013 (Secondary 1-2) & 28 February 2013 (Primary 2-4).
From 2013 onwards, the S-AEIS will be for admission to the Primary 2 to Primary 4, and Secondary 1 to Secondary 2 levels only. There will be no admission to the Primary 5 and Secondary 3 levels under S-AEIS.

What is International Student Admissions
International Student Admissions is the process for non-Singapore Citizen / non-Singapore Permanent Resident students to seek admission into mainstream primary schools, secondary schools and junior colleges (JCs) in Singapore.
Admission of international students into mainstream schools is subject to availability of school vacancies, the student meeting the school’s admission criteria and the student’s successful application of a Student’s Pass (STP) from the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), if necessary.

Categorisation of International Students
International students are categorised as follows:
- International students with Dependant’s Pass (DP) or with Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) or with either parent who is a Singapore Citizen (SC) or Singapore Permanent Resident (SPR)
- International students without Dependant’s Pass (DP), without Immigration Exemption Order (IEO) and whose parents are not Singapore Citizens (SC) or Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR)
- International students without Dependant’s Pass (DP), without Immigration Exemption Order (IEO), and whose parents are S Pass or Work Permit (R Pass) holders and are not Singapore Citizens (SC) or Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR)

In accordance with the Immigration Regulations, a foreigner who wishes to study in a Government / Government-Aided / Independent School requires a Student’s Pass (STP) unless he / she is a holder of a Dependant’s Pass (DP) or an Immigration Exemption Order (IEO).
