Centre Head, MOE Kindergarten @ West Spring

"We are here as advocates for young children."

Marian believes that educators are advocates for young children and should always place the children at the heart of all decisions. She works closely with her team of teachers at MOE Kindergarten @ West Spring to nurture children with social skills such as learning how to communicate with others and how to share and respect others. She is also committed to inculcate in children values like respect, humility and compassion for others.

Marian emphasises strong home-school partnerships to support children in their learning. She also guides and develops her teachers in their professional development so as to realise their potential as early childhood educators.

"All children can learn. Educators will have to turn walls into doors for children to seize opportunities in exploring the world."

My commitment as an early childhood educator is to create a trusting and safe environment for children to explore, question, practice, make mistakes, create, and imagine. I believe that early learning is about building the love for learning through interactive activities that excite children in exploring new things.

To enrich the children’s learning, it is critical to build strong partnerships with families. I also believe that as early childhood educators, we should share good practices and grow and learn together in this field to give every child a strong start.
