FAQs for MOE Survey on Job Search Experience (2020 Graduates)

MOE has commissioned Lightspeed Research to conduct a survey of graduates who are joining the workforce amidst the COVID-19 situation to better understand their current job search experience. The information collected will help the Government improve its efforts to support graduates in this period.

If you have queries, please refer to the Frequently Asked Questions below. For further clarifications and queries, you may contact Lightspeed Research at feedback@lightspeedresearch.com.

1. What is the purpose of the survey?

The survey is carried out by Ministry of Education (MOE) to better understand your current job search experience amidst the COVID-19 situation. The information you provide will help the Government improve its efforts to support you and your peers through this challenging time.

2. Who are surveyed?

The survey covers current students and recent graduates from Autonomous Universities, Polytechnics, ITE, Arts Institutions and Private Education Institutes who are likely to join the workforce this year.

3. Can I refuse to participate in this survey?

Yes. Your decision to participate in this research study is voluntary and completely up to you. However, we would be grateful for your participation as your feedback will help the Government to understand the situation on the ground, and improve its efforts to support our graduates in their job search. The survey will take about five minutes to complete.

4. How did you get my personal data?

Lightspeed Research has been formally appointed by MOE to conduct this survey on their behalf. We wish to assure you that your contact details and survey responses will be kept confidential and only used for the purpose of this survey.

5. Under the PDPA, I would need to give my consent before my personal data can passed to someone else. I did not give consent. Why are you contacting me?

The survey is not for commercial purpose. The survey will inform the Government's efforts to support our students and graduates amidst COVID-19. As Lightspeed Research has been formally appointed by the MOE, which is a public agency, we are permitted under the PDPA to contact you without seeking your consent. We wish to assure you that the information collected will only be used for the purpose of this survey.

6. I have already registered my number in the Do Not Call (DNC) registry. Why are you still calling me?

The DNC registry is for telemarketing calls or messages of commercial nature sent to consumers. This survey is not for commercial purpose.

7. What happens to the information you obtained from the survey? Who will have access to the information that I provided in the survey?

The information will be provided to MOE and will be used by the Government to study the employment situation and inform policy changes to better support graduates in their job search. It will also be shared with your institution. The information provided to Lightspeed Research will be destroyed twelve months after the survey has concluded.

8. Will the information I provide to you make me identifiable?

No, all survey responses will be kept anonymous.
