Raffles Girls’ Primary School

In Raffles Girls’ Primary School, there is a strategic and concerted effort to collaborate with the key partners to provide a holistic education for the pupils. Guided by the partnership framework, the school aims to align the partnership initiatives with the strategic direction of the school.

Students collaborating on a project

The school’s guiding philosophy is ‘Every Child Matters and To Develop Them To Be The Best That They Can Be’. Collaborations with the different partners have supported the learning and development of the pupils in the school. The collaboration effort is vision driven and founded on trust, with three different areas of collaboration—ENABLE, ENRICH and ENLARGE. Each area of collaboration is matched to the school’s needs, strategic foci and the partners’ skills and interests / need. All collaborative processes, programmes and activities are aligned to the vision of the school.

The collaborative effort is evident in many programmes in the school. For example, the school formed a team with the PVG, alumni and SAC members, conceptualizing and carrying out fund-raising events for the building of the school’s Indoor Sports Hall. The events included tile-painting, swimathon and carnival. These fund raising events brought all the stakeholders together and strengthened the Raffles Girls School family bond.

Parents coaching students

Another significant effort in RGPS partnership is that the school has co-organised with parent volunteers and alumni to conduct interview skills workshops and impromptu speech sessions for the P6 pupils to strengthen their confidence and oratorical skills. These programs and events have supported them in the PSLE Oral Examination and DSA interview sessions.

The school has also established partnership with organizations beyond school, such as the fundraising project by the Primary four pupils for the Cambodian school to raise awareness of the less fortunate. The pupils communicated with the Cambodian children through letter writing which enhances their understanding of the underprivileged.

Students from Raffles Girls' Primary and National Junior College

To inspire the pupils to become effective leaders, the school has also established partnerships with National Junior College and Nanyang Girls’ High to craft and conduct leadership trainings and programs that will develop the pupils to be more effective leaders.

RGPS believes the unwavering support of the key partners and the strategic navigation of partnerships are important avenues to mould the pupils to become leaders and citizens who will contribute and care for the community.
