Tamil Language Teacher Training Scheme

For the first 3 years, an allowance will be given by MOE. In Year 3 of study, candidates who apply for Tamil Language (Primary) teaching and meet MOE’s requirements will proceed with their Year 4 of study at the National Institute of Education (NIE).

 Upon successful completion of Year 3 of the programme, candidates will be appointed to the Education Service as a Trainee Teacher and be paid a salary during Year 4 of the programme.

Students who successfully graduate under the 3-year Tamil Language Teacher Training Scheme, without 1-year NIE training, will join MOE Kindergartens as a Tamil Language teacher.

Art and Music Teacher Training Scheme

For the first 3 years, an allowance will be given by MOE. Upon successful completion of Year 3 of the programme, candidates will be appointed to the Education Service as a Trainee Teacher and be paid a salary during Year 4 of the programme.
