Applicants shortlisted to teach Physical Education (PE) are required to pass the Physical Proficiency Test (PPT) conducted by the National Institute of Education (NIE) before they are scheduled for the selection interview.

The PPT comprises 5 separate components. Applicants are required to pass all five components to pass the PPT. As such, applicants are advised to familiarize themselves with each of these components. Please click on the links below to view the videos for each component.

For more details on the scoring system and test requirements, please visit NIE’s Physical Education and Sports Science website.

If required to sit for the PPT, applicants will be scheduled by the Ministry to take the test. No rescheduling of the test date is allowed unless under exceptional circumstances. The Ministry will advise applicants on the test, registration and payment details by email, closer to the test date.

The cost of the PPT is S$10.70 (including GST).

The registration fee is non-refundable. No refund of payment will be given to applicants who register but are absent or withdraw from the test.

The Statement of Result indicates if an applicant has met the minimum requirements of the PPT. Applicants will receive this document within two weeks of the test date. The test result is valid for a period of two years from the date of the test.

Please note that requests for review of results will not be entertained.
