As an Outdoor Adventure Educator (OAE), you will have the opportunity to lead camping activities, facilitate learning, and ensure the well-being of students at MOE Outdoor Adventure Learning Centres.

This position includes a sponsored basic training programme that lasts 4 to 5 months, during which you will receive a monthly salary. Upon completion of the programme, you will be ready to embark on your journey as an OAE.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Conduct adventure camp activities and facilitate students' reflection and learning.
  • Ensure students' safety through safety instructions and procedures.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for camp activities.
  • Plan and evaluate camps, to ensure achievement of learning objectives.

As an OAE, you will typically work 5 days a week, which may include Saturdays. Camps are residential and you will be rostered for some overnight duties.

Off-in-Lieu/time-off will be granted for extra work hours. You will also be eligible for field allowance when deployed for outfield work.

Outdoor Adventure Educator

Requirements 

  • A strong interest in outdoor adventure activities and the ability to connect and establish rapport with students.
  • The capability to perform and supervise activities at height and in the waters.
  • Experience in conducting outdoor activities for students would be an advantage.
  • Applicants should have the physical fitness and mental resilience to carry out their duties effectively.

Salary and benefits

The starting salary commences at $1,900, with typical starting salaries ranging from $2,650 to $4,700, based on your experience and qualifications.
