School Posting Phase

The content related to Returning Singaporeans in the beta website is accurate and up to date. Feel free to give us your feedback and help us improve it!

Following the School Option Phase, your child will be posted based on his/her performances in the SPE tests, school choices and available school vacancies.

Under the SPE, secondary schools may admit a small number of applicants over and above their planned capacity. This takes into consideration that your child has been away for some time and was unable to seek admission into secondary schools together with other Singaporean children who had taken the PSLE.

If your child is not posted to any of the schools opted for, MOE will place your child in a secondary school with a vacancy that is near to your residential address.

Important Note

Applicants who are successfully allocated a place in our school through the Direct School Admission – Secondary (DSA-Sec) Exercise will not be allocated another place through the SPE as places have already been reserved for them in the DSA-Sec schools. They will not be allowed to transfer to another school as they are expected to honour the commitment to the allocated DSA schools for the entire duration of the programme.

Release of Posting Results

Tentatively, the posting results for the SPE will be released on 3 February 2020.

The SPE Internet System (SPE IS) allows you to retrieve your child’s posting results from a computer with internet connection.

You will need the following information ready to log in:

  • Your child’s NRIC/BC Number
  • Your child’s Passport Number (used for SPE application)
  • SPE Index Number

LOA Advisory for SPE Candidates

As the SPE reporting and registration period starts on 4 Feb 2020, MOE will be enhancing precautionary measures, including daily temperature taking, to ensure that our schools remain a safe and healthy learning environment.

If you have returned from Mainland China on 21 Jan or after, you will be placed on Leave of Absence (LOA) for a period of 14 days, starting from the first day after return. For example, if you return to Singapore on 28 Jan (Tue), the LOA would last from 29 Jan to 11 Feb, with the date of return to school being 12 Feb (Wed). Please contact the secondary school to confirm your place in the school if you are unable to report because of LOA.

You will be supported by home-based learning assigned by the school. If you have any queries on LOA, you can call the school office.

For updates on the coronavirus situation, you can visit or sign up at to receive the latest information via Whatsapp.

Your child is required to report to the posted school during the following period, or MOE and the school will have full discretion to admit another student to the school in place of your child. If your child is unable to report during the reporting and registration period, you will need to contact the posted school to make alternative arrangements.
