Polytechnics will take into account your aptitudes for and interests in the specific courses that you are applying for. For example, polytechnics may consider your passion for and talents in film and video production when you apply through Poly EAE for a polytechnic course in Media Studies.

More information on the polytechnics, the courses they offer and their selection criteria can be found on the polytechnic websites.

If you have received a conditional offer via Poly EAE, you will still need to meet the following admissions criteria in order to confirm your place in the polytechnic course:

For O-Level holders:

  • A net ELR2B2 score of 26 points or better for the GCE O-Level examinations*; and
  • Minimum Entry Requirements (MERs) for the polytechnic course you have been offered under Poly EAE*. The MERs for each polytechnic course can be found on the polytechnics’ websites.

  • Note: ELR2B2 is used for admission into the polytechnics. It refers to:

    • EL: English Language
    • R2: 2 relevant subjects for the polytechnic course applied for
    • B2: 2 other best subjects which could be elective subjects

* Results may be combined from no more than 2 sittings of the GCE O-Level examination.

For final-year ITE students:

  • Final net GPA of 2.0 or better for Higher Nitec qualification; or
  • Final net GPA of 3.5 or better* for Nitec qualification.

  • Note: For Nitec in Nursing holders only, the minimum GPA requirement for admission to the Diploma in Nursing or the Diploma in Health Sciences (Nursing) is 3.0.
