COMPLETION OF 2007 S1 OPTION CAPTURING EXERCISE
1. The Secondary One school selection option phase ended on 28 Nov 2007. This year, 46,720 eligible students opted for their secondary schools.
2. This year, MOE introduced the new S1 Internet System (S1-IS) as an additional and more convenient channel for parents to submit their child’s secondary school options. The take-up rate for this new channel of submission has been good, with 72 percent of parents submitting their child’s secondary school options through the S1-IS using their own personal online PIN. The rest of the parents decided to go to their child’s primary schools to submit their hardcopy option forms. Prior to the introduction of the S1-IS, all parents needed to go to the schools to submit their option forms.
3. The exercise proceeded very smoothly with the S1-IS, which was accessible 24 hours for the 7 days of the option capturing period, including weekends and outside school opening hours.
4. The Secondary One posting results will be released on 19 Dec 2007 at 11am. On that date, parents can log on the S1-IS (http://www.moe.gov.sg) or call the Interactive Voice Response System at 66912066 to check their child’s posting result.
