TWO CHANNELS FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL OPTIONS SUBMISSION

1.     Parents would be able to choose between two channels – the hardcopy option form or the Secondary One Internet System (S1-IS), when submitting their child’s secondary school options from tomorrow, 22 Nov, to 28 Nov 2007. This is part of MOE’s efforts to improve service delivery and increase convenience to parents through offering an additional channel.  The results of the 2007 Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) will be released tomorrow from 12pm.

2.     Eligible pupils will receive their option forms addressed to their parents from their respective primary schools on 22 Nov.  In every option form, there will be a unique Secondary One Personal Identification Number (or S1 PIN), which enables parents to register their school choices for their child via S1-IS. Pupils are required to hand the option form to their parents.

3.     The S1-IS will be accessible via the MOE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg by the time pupils receive their results.  Parents can submit their child’s secondary school options either electronically via the S1-IS or physically to the child’s primary school between 22 Nov and 28 Nov 2007 by 3pm.

4.     The Secondary One posting results will be released on 19 Dec 2007 at 11am. Pupils can check their posting results via the following channels:
  (i)      S1 Internet System (http://www.moe.gov.sg/esp/schadm/sec1/pslemain.htm)
(ii)     The Interactive Voice Response System IVRS (Tel: 66912066)
(iii)    Going to the child’s primary school

5.     Pupils are to report to their posted secondary schools on 21 Dec 2007 at 8.30am.

6.     For more information on the Secondary One Posting Exercise and S1-IS, you can refer to the MOE website at http://www.moe.gov.sg or Part One of the information booklet entitled “Choosing your Secondary Schools”.  For enquiries, you can call the MOE Customer Service Centre at 68722220.
