Minister Ng Eng Hen to Visit New Zealand
Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, will visit New Zealand from 17 to 20 November 2010. He will attend the Asia New Zealand Foundation (Asia:NZ) Honorary Advisers Meeting, where he will meet with the Governor-General of New Zealand and Asia:NZ patron, Hon Sir Anand Satyanand; Prime Minister of New Zealand, Hon John Key; and Chairman of Asia:NZ, Hon Philip Burdon.
During his visit, Dr Ng will call on the New Zealand Minister of Defence, Hon Dr Wayne Mapp, and Minister of Education, Hon Anne Tolley. He will also visit schools to learn more about educational developments in New Zealand.
Dr Ng will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education.
Background on Asia:NZ
The Asia New Zealand Foundation is a non-partisan and non-profit organisation which aims to build New Zealanders’ knowledge and understanding of Asia. Some of Asia:NZ’s programmes include scholarships, seminars, internships, educational support, special events and exchanges. Dr Ng sits on Asia:NZ’s Board of Honorary Advisers, lending support to the Foundation and providing advice and assistance in the development of programmes related to Singapore.
