Senior Parliamentary Secretary Masagos Zulkifli to Lead Study Trip by the Malay Language Centre of Singapore (MLCS) to Malaysia
Mr Masagos Zulkifli, Senior Parliamentary Secretary for Ministry of Education and Ministry of Home Affairs will lead a study team from the Malay Language Centre of Singapore (MLCS) to Malaysia from 18 October to 20 October 2010.
SPS Masagos will meet with Y.B. Dr. Haji Mohd Puad Bin Zarkashi, Deputy Minister of Education (II), Ministry of Education, Malaysia. He will also visit the Institute of Language and Literature (Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka), the Faculty of Educational Studies (FES) at the Putra University (UPM), the Teachers’ Education Institute of Malay Language (IPBMM) and the University of Malaya (UM) to gain insights into professional development programmes for Malay Language teachers in Malaysia.
SPS Masagos will be accompanied by Mr Mohamad Noh Daipi, Centre Director of MLCS, teachers and officials from MLCS.
About MLCS
MLCS supports the in-service training of Malay language (ML) teachers through training courses, workshops, seminars and professional sharing sessions for ML teachers. Teachers can boost their skills and knowledge in a variety of areas such as Malay grammar, Malay culture, teaching strategies, assessment techniques, and application of infocomm technology. These will facilitate teachers in developing more creative and effective ML lessons.
