Inaugural National School Games Closing Ceremony

Starting from 2010, the National School Games (NSG) would begin with an opening ceremony and culminate in a closing ceremony which would coincide with the National Colours Award Presentation Ceremony. Formerly known as the National Inter-School Championships, the 2010 NSG comprised 27 sports and involved 33,000 athletes from 183 schools.

For the first time in 50 years of history, a virtual Games flame was lit at the NSG opening ceremony and kept burning for 211 days of inter-school competitions. The flame marked the coming of age for sports development in schools and commitment to nurturing sporting values in the holistic education of every student in Singapore. In conjunction with the award presentation, the 2010 NSG was brought to a close with the extinguishing of the Games flame.
