Results of the 2009 Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education (Ordinary Level) Examination
The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level) Examination is conducted jointly by the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE), the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board (SEAB) and the Ministry of Education (MOE).
A total of 37,424 school candidates sat for the 2009 O-Level Examination and 37,380 or 99.9% have been awarded certificates. In the 2008 O-Level Examination, there were 36,640 school candidates of which 99.9% were awarded certificates. An information sheet on students and schools with good performance is at Annex A.
The results of the 2009 and 2008 O-Level Examinations for school candidates are as follows:

This year, 4,757 or 35.7% of the 2009 Secondary 4 Normal Academic [Sec 4N(A)] students sat for one or more subjects in the O-Level Examination. Of these, 4,186 or 88.0% have obtained at least one O-Level pass.
A total of 3,431 private candidates sat for the 2009 O-Level Examination and 3,015 or 87.9% have been awarded certificates.
School candidates have been issued their results by their respective schools from 2:00 pm today. Private candidates will be informed of their results by post. Private candidates may also access their results through the Singapore Examinations and Assessment Board website from 2:00 pm today.
