Online Registration for MOE EXCEL FEST 2010 Sharing Sessions and Talks Opens

MOE ExCEL Fest 2010 — “Every Child Ready for the World”

Over 45 engaging sharing sessions and seminar talks on various educational topics to be held at the MOE ExCEL Fest 2010 on 6 March 2010 are now open for registration online at the ExCEL Fest website.

The main theme for MOE ExCEL Fest 2010, “Every Child Ready for the World”, reflects how MOE strives to equip every student with the mindsets, values and skills that will enable them to excel in the 21st century. Participants of the sharing sessions will get a glimpse into how our schools are nurturing our students into confident children, independent learners and caring citizens who are ready to take on the world! Invited guests will also share on topics ranging from preparing your child for Primary 1, inspiring critical thinking to cyberwellness. A list of sharing sessions and seminar talks are available at the ExCEL Fest website. Registration for sharing sessions and seminar talks are on a first-come-first-served basis.

In addition to sharing sessions and seminar talks, MOE ExCEL Fest 2010 will bring together more than 180 schools and MOE HQ to showcase various innovations which are taking place in the classrooms and beyond. More than 80 exhibits will be categorised into four sub-themes — This is IT!; On your mark, get set… Go Global!; Learning out of the box; and CharacterPLUS. Parents and the public can learn about how Infocomm Technology has been transforming the way students learn; the global connections that our children are making to broaden their horizon; the creative and fun ways teachers are using to engage students; and school practices to build good character in our children.

Visitors to the Fest can also look forward to interactive activities at the MOE Pavilion to learn more about our evolving education system. The Village Olympia will also showcase how MOE and our schools are supporting the Singapore 2010 Youth Olympic Games through promoting Olympic values and introducing our students to the cultures of the participating National Olympic Committees.

Learning out of the box

There is great vibrancy in our schools. A myriad of activities are taking place in our classrooms. Our teachers are always innovating and engaging our students in ingenious ways.
