Senior Minister of State Lui Tuck Yew to attend the 4th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Education Ministerial Meeting
RAdm (NS) Lui Tuck Yew, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Information, Communications and the Arts, will attend the 4th APEC Education Ministerial Meeting (AEMM) in Lima, Peru from 11–12 Jun 2008.
The AEMM brings together Education Ministers from the 21 APEC member economies, to share perspectives on education and discuss programmes for educational collaborations. The 3rd AEMM was held in Chile in 2004.
The 4th AEMM will focus on discussions on the main theme “21st Century Competencies and Skills for All”, as well as the four sub-themes on Mathematics and Science education; career and technical education; language learning; and Information Communications Technology (ICT) and systemic reform in education.
RAdm (NS) Lui will meet with other APEC Education Ministers at the sidelines of the 4th AEMM. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education.
