VISIT BY MR THARMAN SHANMUGARATNAM, MINISTER FOR EDUCATION, TO INDIA, 12-15 SEPTEMBER 2005

Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Minister for Education, will be visiting Chennai and New Delhi, India, from 12 to 15 September 2005.

2.        Mr Shanmugaratnam will lead a MOE delegation to visit top schools in Chennai and New Delhi, so as to establish links with Singapore schools and study changes in the Indian education system.

3.         Mr Shanmugaratnam will also officiate at the opening of several Singapore corporate ventures. While in Chennai, he will launch the International Tech Park, Chennai (ITPC) together with the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Dr. J. Jayalalithaa. The ITPC was jointly developed by Ascendas Pte Ltd and the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Co (TIDCO).

4.         Mr Shanmugaratnam will also officiate at the opening of the Stansfield Business School, Chennai Campus; Gateway Distripark's Raillink in Gurgaon, New Delhi; and the Modern Montessori International Pre-school, also in Gurgaon.
