MINISTRY OF EDUCATION INVESTITURE CEREMONY FOR 2002 NATIONAL DAY AWARDS
Four hundred and twenty-six (426) recipients from schools, the Ministry of Education (MOE) Headquarters and its Statutory Boards were awarded the 2002 National Day Awards. 38 officers received the Commendation Medal, 75 the Efficiency Medal, and 281 the Long Service Medal.
2 The recipients also included thirty-two (32) officers from MOE who were earlier conferred higher medals in November 2002. Of these, one officer was awarded the Public Administration Medal (Gold), 11 the Public Administration Medal (Silver), and 20 the Public Administration Medal (Bronze).
3 The Commendation Medal is awarded to selected officers who have demonstrated significant competence and special performance. The Efficiency Medal is given to selected officers for their diligence and dedication in their field of work. The Long Service Medal is presented to selected public officers with at least 25 years of service in recognition of their service and contributions to Singapore.
4 The Minister for Education, RAdm (NS) Teo Chee Hean, officiated at the 2002 National Day Awards Investiture Ceremony on Saturday 18 January 2003. The Senior Minister of State for Education, Mr Tharman Shanmugaratnam, the Minister of State for Education, Dr Ng Eng Hen, and the Parliamentary Secretary (Education), Mr Hawazi Daipi, were also present.
5 The Ministry congratulates all recipients and thanks them for their contributions.
