Subject : RESULTS OF THE 2000 SINGAPORE-CAMBRIDGE GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION ORDINARY LEVEL EXAMINATION

 

1        The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination is conducted jointly by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and the Ministry of Education.

2        The total school candidature in the 2000 examination was 32,672 and of these, 32,600 or 99.8% have been awarded certificates. In the 1999 examination, the candidature was 32,985 and 99.8% were awarded certificates.

3        The results of the 2000 and 1999 examinations for school candidates are as follows:

4        A total of 3,035 private candidates sat the 2000 examination. Of these, 2,280 or 75.1% have been awarded certificates.

5        School candidates have been issued their results by their respective schools. Private candidates are being informed of their results by post. Private candidates may also access their results through the Internet after 2.00 p.m. on the day of release of results.
