PRESIDENT'S AWARD FOR TEACHERS

1        Members of the public are invited to nominate outstanding teachers for this year's President's Award for Teachers. The award will be conferred by the President at the Istana on Teachers' Day. This is the fourth year of the award.

2       Nominees must be teachers who are dedicated to the welfare, character and moral development of students. They must strive to nurture the spirit of enterprise, innovation and curiosity in our young and develop their potential. They must also be role models who seek to learn continuously and be an exemplar to both their students and peers through word and deed.

3       Nomination forms can be obtained at any primary or secondary school, junior college or centralised institute, the Customer Service Centre of the Ministry of Education at 1 North Buona Vista Drive and at Teachers' Network, 51 Grange Road. Nomination forms can also be obtained from the Ministry of Education's website at www1.moe.edu.sg and at the Teachers' Network website at www1.moe.edu.sg/tn/index.html.

4       The closing date for nominations is 31 March 2001.
