RELEASE OF THE 1999 SINGAPORE-CAMBRIDGE
GCE ‘A’ LEVEL EXAMINATION RESULTS
1 The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Advanced Level Examination is
conducted jointly by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and the Ministry
of Education.
2 The total school candidature in the 1999 examination was 11 601. Of these, 11 533 or 99.4%
obtained at least one `A’ level pass.
3 The results of the 1999 and 1998 examinations for school candidates are as follows:

4 A total of 2 526 private candidates sat for the 1999 examination. Of these, 950 or 37.6% obtained
at least one `A’ level pass.
5 School candidates have been issued their results by their respective junior colleges and centralised
institutes. Private candidates will receive their results by post. Private candidates may also access
their results through the Internet on the day of release of results.
