Visit to Thailand by RAdm (NS) Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, from 25 to 26 November 1999

1. Minister for Education and Second Minister for Defence, RADM (NS) Teo Chee Hean will be visiting Bangkok, Thailand from 25 to 26 November 1999. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education.

2. Minister Teo will meet his counterpart, the Thai Minister of Education, Mr Somsak Prisananuntagul, and the Minister of University Affairs, Mr Prachuab Chaiyasan, to discuss bilateral relations in the area of education. Minister will also be calling on the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Mr Chuan Leekpai, and other Thai leaders.

3. In addition, Minister will be visiting educational institutions, including the Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation (SEAMEO) Regional Centre for Archaeology and Fine Arts in Bangkok in his capacity as the President of the SEAMEO Council.
