RESULTS OF THE 1998 SINGAPORE-CAMBRIDGE GENERAL CERTIFICATE OF EDUCATION ORDINARY LEVEL EXAMINATION

1. The Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level Examination is conducted jointly by the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and the Ministry of Education.

2. The total school candidature in the 1998 examination was 36,202 and of these, 36,119 or 99.8% have been awarded certificates. In the 1997 examination, the candidature was 37,141 and 99.7% were awarded certificates.

3. The results of the 1998 and 1997 examinations are as follows:

4. A total of 3,267 private candidates sat for the 1998 examination. Of these, 2,530 or 77.4% have been awarded certificates.

5. School candidates have been issued their results by their respective schools. Private candidates are being informed of their results by post. Private candidates may also access their results through the Internet after 11.00 a.m. on the day of release of results at the MOE website, http://www.moe.edu.sg/exams.
