RELOCATION OF POI CHING SCHOOL

Poi Ching School (PCS) is a government-aided Special Assistance School located at Lorong 6 Toa Payoh. The school was built in 1970 occupying a 0.54 ha leasehold land. The School Management Committee of Poi Ching School has decided on the relocation of the school to Tampines Street 71 from year 2000. The relocation of the school to the new site on a 1.8 ha land will allow the school to expand and provide the students with the latest facilities and full range of programmes. The Ministry of Education supports the decision of Poi Ching School Management Committee to relocate the school.

2 In the interest of current pupils of the school, the Poi Ching Management Committee and the Ministry of Education have also decided to allow those pupils who do not wish to move with the school to Tampines to continue with their primary education at the Toa Payoh premises to be managed by Poi Ching School.

3 Children who will be registering this year for admission to Primary One in 1999 will attend classes at the Toa Payoh premises for one year. They will move with the school in year 2000 to the Tampines premises. There will be no Primary One intake at the Toa Payoh premises from year 2000 onwards.
