Visit by Minister for Education RADM Teo Chee Hean to Britain

The Minister for Education, RAdm Teo Chee Hean, will be visiting
Britain from 20 to 24 April 98. He will be accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry of Education.

2 The main aim of the visit is to gain a better understanding of some of the changes being introduced in the UK education system including educational standards, and the teacher training system.

3 While in Britain, RAdm Teo and his delegation will visit some schools and three universities, namely Imperial College, University of London Institute of Education (ULIE) and University of Warwick. At ULIE and Warwick University, the delegation’s main focus will be the teacher training system in UK. The delegation will also be meeting officials from the Department for Education and Employment. They will also meet officials overseeing curriculum, assessment and educational standards.
