INTERNET REGISTRATION FOR 1998 JOINT ADMISSIONS EXERCISE

Applicants to junior colleges, centralised institutes, polytechnics and the Institute of Technical Education can register for admission via the Internet in the 1998 Joint Admissions Exercise (JAE). Registration opens from 8:30am on Tuesday, 3 March 98 and will close at 12 noon on Saturday, 7 March 98.

2 The Ministry of Education is implementing Internet registration for the JAE to provide convenience to applicants and to cut down on the need for manual processing of registration forms.

3 The admission to pre-university courses via Internet was first introduced in Dec 97 at the Provisional Admission Exercise (PAE) for students entering junior college or centralised institute. Internet registration had allowed for faster processing of PAE applications and made the registration process more efficient.

More convenient registration via Internet

4 Applicants using the results of the 1997 GCE O level examinations or the combined 1996 and 1997 GCE O level examination results can register for admission to courses in the JAE through the Internet.

5 Those who register through the Internet will be able to submit their applications from the convenience of their computers at home, or from any location where there is Internet access. The Internet address is http://www.moe.edu.sg/jae .

6 School candidates who sat for the 1997 GCE O level Examination will receive the JAE registration forms when they collect their result slips from their secondary schools. Private candidates will receive their result slips and registration forms by post.

Registration by applicants using results of GCE O level examinations taken before 1997

7 Applicants who wish to use results of GCE O level examinations conducted before 1997 should obtain the registration forms from the Pupil Placement Office, 1st storey, Annexe block, Ministry of Education, Kay Siang Road.
