SCHOOL TERMS AND SCHOOL VACATIONS FOR 1997
The Ministry of Education is observing the following dates as the school terms, school vacations and scheduled school holidays for all primary and secondary schools, junior colleges and centralised institutes for 1997.
School Semesters/Terms
The school semesters/terms for 1997 will be as follows:
Semester I
Term I : Thu, 2 Jan - Fri, 14 Mar
Term II : Mon, 24 Mar - Fri, 30 May
Semester II
Term III : Mon, 30 Jun - Fri, 5 Sep
Term IV : Mon, 15 Sep - Fri, 21 Nov
School Vacations
The vacation periods will be as follows:

Between Terms I & II : Sat, 15 Mar - Sun, 23 Mar |

Between Semesters I & II : Sat, 31 May - Sun, 29 Jun |

Between Terms III & IV : Sat, 6 Sep - Sun, 14 Sep |

At End of School Year : Sat, 22 Nov - Wed, 31 Dec |
Scheduled School Holidays

Youth Day : *Sun, 6 Jul |
|
- |
Teachers' Day : Mon, 1 Sep |
|
- |
Children's Day : Wed, 1 Oct |
*The following Monday will be a scheduled school holiday
