ADMISSION OF FOREIGN STUDENTS TO SCHOOLS AND JUNIOR COLLEGES

  1. In line with PS21, the Ministry of Education has simplified the procedure for the admission of foreign students to schools and junior colleges. Previously, foreign students seeking admission to schools and junior colleges were required to have a local sponsor who must either be a Singapore citizen or a permanent resident. This requirement to have a sponsor has been discontinued. 
  2. The parents or guardians of foreign students who wish to be admitted for the new school year beginning in January 1997 can apply directly to the Foreign Students Unit, Ministry of Education.
  3. Parents who wish to enquire further about school admission
    procedures may call the Ministry's pre-recorded information line at Telephone No. 6473 7383.
