Welcome to           FutureSchools@Singapore

The FutureSchools@Singapore project is an initiative by Ministry of Education to harness ICT effectively for engaged learning, and to keep our education system and programmes relevant in preparing our students for the future. This is in line with the Masterplan 2 for ICT in Education (mp2) which was launched in 2002. The FutureSchools will be a group of schools that will push for innovative transformation of the education experience in Singapore. They will lead the way for other schools in providing possible models for the seamless and pervasive integration of ICT into the curriculum for engaged learning in schools.

Working closely with the Ministry of Education (MOE) and the Infocomm Development Authority (IDA), FutureSchools@Singapore will focus on innovative teaching approaches that leverage fully on ICT and novel school infrastructure designs to bring about more engaged learning for their students.

13 May 2008        Results of FutureSchools@Singapore Call-for-Collaboration

Following IDA's Call-for-Collaboration (CFC) in May 2007, four consortia were selected from 20 proposals by an evaluation committee comprising members from the IDA, MOE and the FutureSchools, based on their innovative solutions for the schools and their proven track record. The CFC seeks to form strategic collaboration with infocomm partners to accelerate the development of the five FutureSchools, which will be done through next generation technologies that support the schools' innovative teaching and learning programmes. An $80 million investment over a period of four years (from May 2008 to May 2012) will be contributed by the IDA, National Research Foundation and the industry.
