Secondary One Posting Exercise

The S1 Posting Exercise is an annual exercise conducted by the Ministry of Education (MOE) to post Primary 6 pupils, who have passed their Primary School Leaving Examinations (PSLE), to a secondary school based on their PSLE results and their school choices. This exercise is conducted from late November to December annually.

The school selection period will commence on 20 Nov 2008 and end on 26 Nov 2008 (tentative dates) for all Primary 6 pupils to submit their secondary school choices. During the school selection period in late November, parents can either submit their child’s secondary school options via the S1 Internet System (S1-IS) or through their child’s primary school.

Parents are advised to read the S1 Posting Information Booklet entitled “Choosing Your Secondary Schools”. There are two parts to the information booklet - Part One (General Information) and Part Two (Information on Secondary Schools). Parents are reminded to read these booklets carefully before submitting their child’s secondary school options.

For submission via S1 Internet System (S1-IS):

Parents can logon to S1-IS from computers with Internet access. Submission via S1-IS is available 24 hours starting from 11am on 20 Nov 2008 until 3pm on 26 Nov 2008.

Parents will need the following before submitting on S1-IS:

Parents are advised to complete the S1 Option Form before logging on to S1-IS. Please be informed that users will be automatically logout of S1-IS if there is 10 minutes of continuous inactivity per web page.

The online submission is considered successful only when the Verification Slip web page appears with the “Confirmation number” shown. Parents are advised to print and retain a copy of the Verification Slip for their reference.

For submission through the child’s Primary School:

Alternatively, for parents who wish to submit the S1 Option Form in hardcopy, they can do so by submitting it to their child’s primary school at the following timings:

A verification slip will be issued to the parents after the school staff enters the options. Parents are required to check through the verification slip to ensure that the options entered are correct and sign on them. If there are any discrepancies, parents are to inform the school staff immediately.
