Enrichment Activities: Poem Writing and Recitation Contest

Aim

The aim of the contest is to enhance pupils’ interest in learning Chinese and to allow GEP and Non-GEP pupils to communicate with each other in Mandarin in a fun way.

Description

This is a half-day event, held in July. It is organised by the Gifted Education Branch for all Primary 4 GEP and Non-GEP pupils in the mixed classes in the 9 centres. Since pupils would have been shown ways to appreciate classical and contemporary poems during their Chinese lessons, this contest is a platform for pupils to showcase poems and songs they have written after those lessons.
