2011 Student Transfer Exercise for Primary Schools (STEPS) – Registration Process
If the child is eligible to participate in the 2011 STEPS, you may register via:
Option 1 – STEPS Registration at Current School
Schools will be inviting applications for 2011 STEPS from 21 November 2011 to 23 November 2011. Parents/guardians should approach their child’s existing school to submit their applications through the school between 8.00 am and 5.00 pm each day.
For Registration/Amendment/Withdrawal at schools, parents have to produce the following documents for verification:
- Child’s Birth Certificate
- Both parents’ / guardian’s original NRICs with the updated address
- Any other necessary documents
Option 2 – STEPS Internet System (STEPS-IS) Registration
Alternatively, parents have an additional channel created for public’s convenience, to register their child/children for STEPS via the Internet. The STEPS-IS makes it more convenient for parents to submit their child’s registration from any Internet-enabled personal computer.
- Parents can log on to STEPS-IS using the child’s BC No/UIN and both parents’ NRIC Nos and Singpasses. Please refer to the Step-by-Step Guide (467kb .pdf). STEPS-IS registration commences from 18 November 2011 to 23 November 2011 (including weekends) from 10.00 am on the first day to 12 noon on the last day.
- Upon successful registration, parents are strongly advised to print and retain a copy of the Acknowledgement Slip. You will be required to use the Acknowledgement Number to view the posting results on 12 December 2011.
What you need to know
The smooth operation of STEPS depends on parents/guardians furnishing correct information in the application especially that of the home address. To this end, parents/guardians are required to declare that the information provided by them in the application is correct and true.
Any transfer of school resulting from false or incorrect information furnished in the application will be nullified and in such an event, the child affected may be posted to any school as directed by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
