Gifted Education Programme (GEP)

The Gifted Education Programme (GEP) caters to the needs of the intellectually gifted. It is implemented from Primary Four to Six (P6) in a few primary schools.

At the secondary level, special provisions have been made for GEP pupils in the Integrated Programmes (IP) track and the ‘O’ level track. P6 GEP pupils can opt to study in either one of these tracks. The schools which offer the IP track for GEP pupils in the IP track are:

P6 GEP pupils admitted to the IP in these schools will have gifted education incorporated in their respective school-based programmes.

The schools which offer the ‘O’ level track for GEP pupils are:

P6 GEP pupils admitted to the ‘O’ level track in the schools may attend special programmes customised by the schools to meet the learning needs of these pupils.

P6 GEP pupils may apply for all the above schools (except for NUSHS) during the Secondary One Posting Exercise. Some schools may require the pupils to take a qualifying test for admission to their respective customised programme. As NUSHS will not be participating in the Secondary One Posting Exercise, pupils may apply to NUSHS directly after the release of the PSLE results.

GEP pupils in the secondary level (who meet the entry requirements) may apply to study for the Language Programmes and Third Languages.

P6 GEP pupils who meet the standard eligibility requirements or the GEP promotion criteria, will be offered the Edusave Entrance Scholarships for Independent Schools (EESIS) or the GEP Fees Subsidy (for independent schools) where applicable.
