MOE Teaching Award — Application Process
Please read the following instructions carefully before completing the application form.
- This form is only applicable for use by the following candidates:
- Year 3 undergraduates pursuing Arts/Social Sciences, Science (including Biological Sciences, Physical and Mathematical Sciences) or Engineering who will qualify for the Honours programme in AY2012/2013. Applicants should have majored in at least 1 teaching subject1 during their undergraduate course; and
- Honours or Masters graduates pursuing Arts/Social Sciences, Science (including Biological Sciences, Physical and Mathematical Sciences) or Engineering, who are graduating with Honours or Masters in 2012. Applicants should have majored in at least 1 teaching subject1 during their undergraduate course or pursued an Engineering undergraduate or Masters course.
- Your application will be considered in totality and in competition with all other applications received. Please note that you will be considered for the MOE Teaching Award only if you have been offered and accepted a permanent teaching appointment.
- Applicants who did not meet the English Entrance Proficiency Test (EPT) exemption criteria (except for those majoring in Mother Tongue Languages) are advised to register for the English EPT date concurrently, and pass the English EPT for confirmation of the MOE Teaching Award. Please refer to the English EPT webpage for more details.
- The Teaching Award application form takes around 10 minutes to complete.
Application Process
Important
Your application for the MOE Teaching Award will be considered null and void if you do not complete the 2-step application process below.
- Submit an online application for a teaching position via the Online Teaching Position Application. Please apply for the “PostGraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)”.
- Complete and submit the online MOE Teaching Award application form
To be considered for the MOE Teaching Award, both online applications must reach the Ministry by latest, 2 March 2012. You will be notified of the outcome of your application for the MOE Teaching Award in two to three months time after the closing date. Please note that only selected candidates for the MOE Teaching Award will be notified.

- Teaching subjects include English Language, Mother Tongue Languages, Humanities, Sciences, Mathematics, Psychology and Economics. Students reading Political Science, Communications and New Media, Communications Studies, Accountancy, Business Administration with Accounting Specialisation, European Studies, Philosophy, Sociology, South Asian Studies, Southeast Asian Studies and Theatre Studies will be eligible for application.
