Job Description
An Allied Educator (Counselling) works closely with the school management in the planning and implementation of school-wide counselling programmes, providing counselling for students and case consultations to school personnel and parents, and delivering training to teachers in the areas of social and emotional development of students.
Requirements
- Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
- Possess a good degree in any discipline
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Preferably 3 years of full-time working experience
- School / Counselling / Voluntary experience with children & youth, and/or Post-graduate Diploma / Masters in counselling would be an advantage
Remuneration Package
Allied Educators (Counselling) will be appointed on the Allied Educators Scheme of Service. Successful candidates will generally be offered appointment on a 3-year renewable contract at entry level [Level 1 Allied Educator (Counselling)] which is pegged to the appointment grade of Allied Educator (AED) 13A. Candidates with a wealth of experience and expertise / skills can be considered for appointment at Level 2 Allied Educator (Counselling). The starting salary will commensurate with the academic qualifications and work experience of successful applicants. Those who have completed full-time National Service will be granted additional salary increments.

Career Development
The Allied Educators Scheme of Service offers good career advancement opportunities and allows officers to build expertise in their areas of specialisation. Officers who demonstrate good performance and potential can look forward to taking on higher level appointment such as Senior and Lead AED (Counselling). Outstanding officers can progress up to positions of superscale grade in the Ministry Headquarters.
Training
Successful candidates without suitable professional counselling qualifications will be sponsored to attend a 6-8 month full time Diploma Level training in counselling.
You will receive a full monthly salary while attached to schools or undergoing training. Upon successful completion of the training, you will have to serve a two-year Minimum Service Period.
