BROADENING CCA FOR ALL
Co-Curricular Activities (CCAs) are an integral part of the holistic, well-rounded education that MOE seeks to provide for students. CCAs help to nurture in students qualities like resilience, tenacity, confidence and perseverance, which, in turn, develop strength of character that will enable them to better adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Based on feedback gathered from parents, teachers, students and former students, it was announced on 1 June 2004 that CCA policies and grading schemes for secondary school and JC/CI students would be broadened from 2005 to introduce greater flexibility and to recognise students’ participation in:
- Sports and rugged activities;
- Student-initiated activities;
- Community-based activities.
